Harry Potter: Wizards Unite läggs ner i januari

Medan Pokémon Go fortfarande är populärt och Pikmin Bloom nyligen lanserades, har augmented reality-spelet Harry Potter: Wizards Unite haft det tuffare. Nu meddelas att detta läggs ner för gott om några månader, samt att det även tas bort från App Store, Google Play och Galaxy Store den 6 december 2021.

Ungefär sju veckor senare, den 31 januari 2022, kommer spelet, forumet och alla sociala medier som är kopplade till titeln att stängas ner och därmed sätta punkt för detta kapitel. Niantic och Warner Bros Games har gett ett uttalande om saken, som tyvärr inte direkt kan kallas klarspråk:

"When we launched Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, our vision was to allow players to experience the wizarding world right in their real-world surroundings as they stepped outside and explored their neighborhoods. Over the years, millions of witches and wizards around the globe have embarked on real-world adventures, coming together to keep magic hidden safe within the wizarding world while joining forces to take on The Unforgivable. During this time, players have also worked alongside Hermione and Harry as part of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force to unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of the London Five and are now on the verge of putting an end to the Calamity."

Lyckligtvis finns några nya saker kvar att se fram emot för fansen fram till den 31 januari. Under november vankas nya Adversaries- och Brilliant-evenemang, och i december kan vi se fram emot ännu mer av dessa, samt ett Holiday-evenemang och en Horcrux Hunt. När det gäller januari får vi bara veta att mer detaljer kommer vid ett senare tillfälle.
